Sports Degrees

Kinesiology Degrees, Courses and Programs

The academic study of human movement, covering its biological, behavioural and social foundations.

What is kinesiology?

Kinesiology, called human kinetics or human movement studies in some countries, is the umbrella discipline for the study of human movement. It spans the biological sciences (anatomy, physiology, biomechanics), the behavioural sciences (motor learning, sport and exercise psychology) and the social sciences (sport sociology, policy and pedagogy).

Many kinesiology departments house several pathways in one degree: exercise science, physical education and teaching, sport management, athletic training and pre-health tracks. Check the concentration named on the program page rather than assuming what the title covers.

Because the discipline is broad, kinesiology graduates enter coaching, teaching, fitness, health promotion, research and sports administration, or continue to clinical and graduate programs.

Typical topics: Anatomy and physiology, Biomechanics, Motor control and learning, Sport and exercise psychology, Physical activity and health, Pedagogy.

Also called: Human kinetics, Human movement science, Movement science, Bewegungswissenschaft, Bewegingswetenschappen. These names lead to this one page.

From study to professional practice

Kinesiology is an academic degree. Teaching, athletic training, physiotherapy and similar roles have separate registration requirements set by regulators, which are linked on programs where we have found them.

Results are listed alphabetically. There is no price ranking: prices in different currencies and bases (per week, per camp, per term, per year) are not comparable. Missing details (tuition, admissions, accommodation) never remove a verified listing. Training programs closed to the public are shown only when you ask for them. Online programs are never counted as physically located in a state or city. Items marked Sponsored are paid placements; they never change recognition status, verification or order.
